Prepare the Tuna
Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.Make the Marinade
In a small bowl whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and sesame seeds.Marinate the Tuna
Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them marinate for about 10 minutes.Heat the Pan
Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat until very hot.Sear the Tuna
Add tuna steaks and cook 1–2 minutes per side for rare or medium-rare.Rest and Slice
Remove from the pan and let the tuna rest for 1–2 minutes.Serve
Slice against the grain and serve immediately with sesame seeds and green onions.
